We’re a small, faithful family business serving something much greater than coffee. Catholic Coffee was founded by James and Whitney Hetzel, a devoted Catholic couple raising their family of nine children in the heart of the Church. With three sons currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, the Hetzels carry a profound love for both the Faith and those who protect it.

What began as a simple desire—to craft coffee that honors the beauty and depth of Catholic tradition—has become a growing mission grounded in prayer, service, and the Eucharist.

Each of our roasts is named after a saint or sacred devotion, inviting you to begin your day not just with caffeine, but with prayerful intention. Every bag is more than a product—it’s a conversation with Heaven. We invite our customers to submit their prayer intentions, and we bring those to our daily prayer as a team.

And every order goes beyond the cup. We tithe from each purchase to support the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA—a cause close to our hearts. One of our dear family friends, Bishop Joseph Coffey, serves within this Archdiocese, and we are honored to assist in their mission of pastoral care for active-duty military and their families around the world.

Our beans are certified as “Specialty Coffee” by the SCA (Specialty Coffee Association), meaning they meet the highest standards of quality and flavor. But just as important, our sourcing follows the principles of Catholic social teaching: ethical labor, care for creation, and human dignity.

Once sourced, our beans are 100% American-roasted—fresh, in small batches, and handled with care at every stage. From harvest to packaging, everything we do reflects a commitment to excellence and virtue.
